HRPBC Member Volunteer Opportunities

Below you will find a listing of each HRPBC Committee and Task Force along with various volunteer opportunities. In addition, the Chairs of each Committee or Task Force are listed along with their contact information. Interested members should contact the Chairs directly to volunteer.

WORKFORCE READINESS TASK FORCE - CHAIR: Paula Humber- Workforce Readiness
This Task Force will develop initiatives to support increased readiness of our workforce to be able to work in available jobs in Palm Beach County. Projects may include partnerships with local high schools and colleges, training of students in interviewing skills and resume writing, conducting seminars on job opportunities, and implementing job fairs.

LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS CHAIRS: Jessica Zehetmaier - Legislative Affairs
The Legislative Affairs Committee of HRPBC keeps members aware of changes in laws and politics. Members of the Committee will assist in keeping members informed about important pending legislation.  

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - CHAIR: Tanya Vaughn-Patterson- Membership
The Membership Committee of HRPBC handles information and processing of all new members of the chapter. Members of the membership committee provide member prospects with information on qualifications, details on how to join, conduct orientation of new members, and contact new members about upcoming events. Committee members also assist the Membership Chair in coordinating periodic membership drives for new members. 

The Sponsorship Committee of HRPBC works with various vendors to help them determine and secure the most appropriate sponsorship package that meets their business goals. The sponsorships assist HRPBC in providing great events and benefits to our members.

FINANCE COMMITTEE - CHAIR: Joseph Petruzelli- Treasurer (Treasurer-Wendy Wiley)
The Finance Committee of HRPBC works with the Chapter Treasurer to produce regular financial reports for the chapter and post on the MEMBERS ONLY section of the website. Volunteers are needed to help with collections of outstanding fees, development and collection of metrics and data, and preparation of regular metrics reports. 

The Community Relations Committee seeks to educate, promote, and represent the interests of community service and the SHRM Foundation and its activities to the chapter membership.  This committee advances the human resource profession by engaging in strategic and other activities with community-based organizations.

The Programs Committee of HRPBC will provide ideas and concepts on various meeting programs. The committee also acts as the liaison between the speakers and the facilities and professional development committees regarding speaker and program requirements.  If you are interested in providing an educational program of interest to HR professionals that does not entail selling a service or product, please submit a program summary and your credentials to the Committee Chair for review.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE - CHAIR: Margie Pierce-  Hospitality
The Hospitality Committee of HRPBC handles the greeting and registration of members and guests at all HRPBC events. Members of the Committee collect meeting fees, provide name badges, assist with reconciliations, and provide information to meeting attendees.

The Communications Committee is responsible for providing relevant and up-to-date information to our members.  In addition to updating our website and drafting e-mails regarding upcoming events and other important information, the members of this committee are involved in responding to member inquiries and routing inquiries to the appropriate chairperson. 

The goal of the Marketing Committee is to keep you informed and excited about what’s going on with the chapter. You will receive frequent communication via various outlets. This is to diversify our message and ensure everyone stays in tune! Also, we would like to hear from you if you have major things going on in your work and home life that you want to share! Did you know that HRPBC has a presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube? Well we do! We need your help in the communications. If you attend an event, take pictures and send them. Also, if you are doing something special in your community or your job, send it. Let’s keep the excitement going!
